Ralph Downs Elementary
We are the Ralph Downs Roadrunners. We will accept all people as special and unique, and honor each individual...
Our strengths and weaknesses create a common bond.
We accept the responsibility for our behavior. We will respect the learning and well being of others. In all that we do, we will make positive choices. We believe we have the power to be active learners. What we learn today will help make us leaders in the future. We accept the challenge to be the best we can be. We are Ralph Downs Roadrunners.
We make a difference, one day at a time.
Teacher of the Year 13-14
Kimberly Scott discovered her passion for art and educating young children in 2002, as she began spending all her school breaks, from that point forward teaching various forms of art to the students at a non-profit fine arts academy and kids’ camps at Rose State College. Following her graduation from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2006, Kimberly began teaching Art at Ralph Downs Elementary, where she happily remains to this day. Kimberly’s passion for education is exemplified by the many extracurricular activities she is involved in, such as creating musical production backdrops each year, helping with weekly school rallies, coaching intramural sports, providing afterschool art enrichment classes, and displaying the students’ artwork in the schools gallery throughout the year. In addition, Kimberly is the district’s Elementary Visual Art Chair and is actively involved in professional development and training for all art teachers, K-12. Kimberly and her husband, Jarred, have two children: Kylar, who currently attends Putnam City North, and Ava, who is a student at Ralph Downs Elementary.
